Privacy and your data
Family CorkBoard is a small pilot run by a friend, not a company. Here is exactly what happens to your family's information.
What we store
What you or your household enter or connect: household members and pets, calendar events, recipes, meal plans, grocery and pantry lists, tasks, birthdays, board messages, and any photos or files you upload. If you turn on optional connections (a school or team calendar feed, for example), the events they provide are stored too.
Who can see it
- Only the adults in your household. Each household's records are locked to its own members by the database itself, and other pilot households cannot see yours.
- The person running this pilot hosts the database and technically has the access needed to keep it running. They will not browse your household's content, and will only look at your data if you ask them to help fix a problem.
- Nothing is sold, shared for advertising, or used to build ad profiles. There are no ad or analytics trackers in the app.
AI features
Some features use an AI service (currently Anthropic's Claude) to read text or photos you give it, such as recipe photo import, voice and quick-add parsing, and AI Analysis. Only what a feature needs is sent, when you use it. AI suggestions are proposals you approve; the AI does not send messages, buy things, or change outside accounts.
Connections (email, school, calendars)
Connections are optional and off unless you set them up. Calendar feeds are read-only. Email and school-portal connections are not part of this pilot by default. If one is ever turned on for your household, you will be told exactly what it reads first, and you can disconnect it at any time.
Please don't put these in during the pilot
Social Security or bank numbers, passwords, and detailed medical records. The Health and Finance areas exist, but this early pilot is not the place for highly sensitive records.
Feedback you send
When you use Help and feedback, what you write (and which household it came from) is visible to the person running the pilot, and to no one else.
Your control
- Any household admin can download a copy of the household's data from Settings.
- The household owner can permanently delete the household and everything in it from Settings. Other members' sign-in accounts stay, but they will no longer belong to a household.
- You can edit or remove any item, and disconnect any connection, at any time.
What to expect
This is an early pilot with no guarantees. Features change, things break, and data could be lost, so keep the originals of anything important elsewhere. Tell the person who invited you about anything that looks wrong or feels surprising.
